Túcan are an award-winning instrumental guitar duo from Sligo, Ireland, whose live performances are renowned for explosive, crowd pleasing guitar work. They incorporate a wide and varied range of styles into their playing; from classical and 60's rock to heavy metal, trad, Latin and jazz. One of their songs, 'Karluv Most', is currently being used in a nationwide radio ad campaign for the Mexican beer 'Sol'.
They are currently recording their debut album, with Lance Hogan of Kíla fame as producer, due to be released in September 08. They are currently taking 2008 by storm, wowing audiences all over the country as part of their first national tour. This year will also see them appear at some of the biggest and best festivals that Ireland has to offer over the summer.
To date they have shared the stage with such international acts as Regina Spektor, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jose Feliciano, Alabama 3 and KíLA. They have also appeared at such major festivals as 'The Electric Picnic', where their performance, as the closing act of the 2007 festival, has gone down as one of the highlights of the festival.
They have an EP entitled 'System of Strings' which can be heard on their MySpace or website and is available by request. The EP is definitely a taste of what is to come in the future for this duo whose star has been rising dramatically for the last 18 months.
